Opening times

Public Swimming (with a lifeguard on duty)

  • 3pm to 6pm weekdays
  • 12 midday to 6pm – weekends, Bank Holidays and school holidays
  • Last admission - 5.20pm

Adult only Swims (no lifeguard - must be 2 adults present in pool)

Adults must sign a ‘disclaimer’ form
Sessions rely on someone having responsibility for opening the Pool and 2 adults turning up.

  • 7.15am to 8.30am – Monday, Wednesday and Fridays
  • 6pm to 7pm – Tuesday & Wednesdays
  • 7pm to 8pm – Thursdays
  • School Hours - variable dates & times - no lifeguard present so must be at least 2 adults and all must sign a Disclaimer Form.

Please note

  • All non-swimmers MUST be accompanied in the Swimming Pool by an adult
  • All children under the age of 10 MUST be accompanied to the Pool by an adult
  • All children under the age of 8 MUST be accompanied in the water (both pools) and changing areas by a parent or adult.
  • Admission may be declined if the above recommendations are not followed

The ratio for adult to child/children is:

  • for babies and toddlers: 1:1
  • for children age 3 to 5: 1:2
  • for older children with swim aids:1:3

The ratio will need to be reduced to 1:1 WHEN the pool is particularly bust or the lifeguard deems this is necessary

Bad weather

In the event of bad weather the Pool may not open, close early or be forced to close suddenly (ie in case of lightning).

The kiosk is open during all Public Swimming times and serves:

  • Tea - regular and decaf
  • Coffees – regular and decaf
  • Hot choc - regular and special (with marshmallows and cream)
  • Cans, bottled water, fruit juice cartons, Cordial - hot or cold
  • Home baking (subject to availability)
  • Crisps, sweets, ice-creams
  • Beans on toast; Hot dogs, toasties; micro pizzas and micro chips, pot noodles & soup
