Playground NOW Open
As anticipated, the new facilities are proving to be a real delight for local children (and their parents!) Although work on the wider site is still in progress (e.g. willow tunnels are being built) there is a good variety of equipment to suit all ages. During times when the pool is busy, the large gates linking the pool to the school field will be opened up so that children are free to picnic with their families, play in the playground and swim. (Please note that during these times, anyone who has paid to swim will be required to wear a wristband.)

Article in Herald Article in Cumberland News Background The Community Park will benefit all members of the local and rural areas. The project entails a playground space that will include fun and adventurous problem solving activities along with a nature area that will hold a willow plantation for den making, mixed native shrubbery, new trees and a wildflower meadow. The Community Park will be accessible to all, via entry and exit points at either end of the field. A seating and picnic area is also envisaged for this site. Children of all abilities will be able to enjoy the play area, exercise, be safe, explore nature and make a positive contribution to the environment. This project will present a unique opportunity for young people to be involved in creating a community garden for the nature area. Lazonby Community Park will create a focal point in the village, enhancing community involvement, inclusion and cohesion. It will be a valuable recreational facility for all. Thank
you for your support.
