The site is about 5 minutes' walk to the local Co-op and slightly less to the railway station. The village pub, called The Midland Hotel, serving home cooked food is also within very comfortable staggering distance! Two more pubs can be found across the river at Kirkoswald,  Links to local tourist attractions can be found here.
